People are always impressed by the extensive warranties offered by roofing companies – at least until something goes wrong. That's when they find out that their warranty doesn't cover what they thought it did.
Before you get caught up in the hoopla of impressive warranties, it's important that you know the difference between workmanship warranties and materials warranties and what those warranties actually cover
We believe that when you weigh the benefits, you'll agree that 5 Star Roofing
comes out on top.
5 Star Roofing is so confident of our workmanship that we recently upgraded our standard workmanship warranty from 5 years to 10 years!
The warranty states that if you have ANY type of issue arising from the installation of your residential roof in the next 10 years, we'll fix it. Period. And that's our standard warranty. You won't pay a penny extra for it.
What's more, if you have problems arising from a materials defect, we are happy to help file and negotiate the claim with the manufacturer, as well as meet with company inspectors to make sure that your warranty claim is handled with your best interests in mind.
What's not covered?
Here it's important to read the fine print. Acts of God are not typically covered (instead, you should contact your insurance company
). Putting a roof on a business or other non-residence will typically shorten your warranty. Applying shingles on top of another layer of shingles will void your warranty. Replacement costs other than the shingles (e.g., underlayment, flashings, metal work, tear-off, etc.) may or many not be covered, but typically not.
Again, your 5 Star Roofing consultant can help inform you about different warranty options, but always read the fine print for yourself before making a final decision.
